Love Never Loved Me By Momiro

“Cover me, I need to reload!” shouted Jill as she jumped behind a small pile of crates, reloading the ‘Scorpion X’ pistol while Leon
fired his pistol at the giant monstrosity that they were now battling outside the warehouse. Its body seemed to be composed of dead
corpses and tentacles stuck out, dancing around and trying to hit the two officers away as they fought the beast. Though, in the
middle… a corpse was clear that was in a military uniform with a man’s face… and a woman’s face sticking horribly out of the side of
it.
The three officers that had killed wondering zombies quickly ran into building, crying out what was happening outside and immediately
what sounded like an alarm began to sound off.
Leon shouted something to Jill, but the creature had let out a roar and rendered whatever the officer had said to the B&E specialist
in-auditable.
‘1…2…3!’ thought the brunette, then rolled out from the crates and fired all 30 rounds towards the mighty beast, each bullet seeming to
be consumed by it.
“Shit!” she hissed, eyes going wide as a large tentacle swung at her.
As quick as she could, her brain ordered her body to jump but before the message could go through, the large arm swooped in and caught
her by the left leg.
Jill’s eyes shot down to her leg, the tentacle tightening; “Double shit” she spit out before being yanked off her feet, gun glued to her
hand as she screamed.
Leon let out a battle cry, yanking out his knife with one free hand and charging at grotesque monster. Though, as quickly as he charged,
another tentacle blind-sided him and threw him back against the warehouse, gun flying from the officer’s other hand.
The man let out a pained noise as he slide down the skinny metal wall and onto the ground.
Meanwhile, Jill was being tossed around like a rag doll as other tentacles tried to hit her like a piñata.
Groaning as she felt blood rushing to her head and then back to her feet as her body went up and down, the B&E specialist reached an arm
to her belt and grabbed another clip. Her fingers were only a millimeter away from the ammo when a voice hit her eyes that caused her to
loss focus.
---------------------------------------
Barry, Rebecca, Ashley, Chris and Claire all ran down the hallway as soldiers ran past them; the soldiers heading down to help civilians
get out through the ‘back-door’ they had made with a grenade in the police barracks. They had all visited the armory before going out
into what the man who had yelled from the cat-walk as ‘A mother fucking squid thing’.
Chris now had a shotgun and his pistol, Ashley wasn’t an officer so therefore didn’t have a weapon, Claire had two uzis, Barry had an
assault rifle around his back with his magnum at the ready and Rebecca had chosen two pistols.
Chris had also sneaked out a more advanced pistol for Leon; it had better accuracy, a scope, silencer and laser sight and some bullets,
knowing that Leon would like the fact that the weapon’s bullets were bigger then the 9mm he was used too.
They had also picked up some grenades for each of them and first aid strays along with a knife for Barry, Chris and Claire.
As soon as the five busted through the door, Rebecca screamed Jill’s name when she saw her lover dangling in the creature’s grasp.
Jill looked over to see the team, though an arm also followed and smacked her in the chest, knocking the air out of her.
“CHRIS! CLAIRE! COVER US!” shouted Barry, a screech from the mighty beast echoing through the night. Quickly, the two knelt down and
Chris pulled out his pistol and Claire, her SMGs. Ashley quickly ran and took a hiding place between two large concrete blocks.
The team leader immediately ran at the beast, shooting two rounds directly at the end of the tentacle connected to the monster.
With a wail the tentacle came off and Jill fell to the ground, letting out a yelp as her head hit the rough pavement.
“CHAMBERS! GRAB VALENTINE!” commanded Barry.
Suddenly, a tentacle lurched forth at Chris and Claire, the two rolling in opposite directions. Though, as swift the two officer’s
movement, the tentacle turned and grabbed Claire’s wrist; yanking her towards the creature.
“Claire!” cried Chris, immediately reaching for the knife on his belt and thrusting it forth, successfully cutting away the monster’s
grip on Claire.
The sister quickly regained herself and jumped behind some crates and began firing from the cover.
Then, out of the corner of his eyes, Chris saw Leon begin to get up and dove towards him, grabbing the man by his neck and throwing him
and himself behind an overturned boat.
“Here!” the man groaned, giving Leon the pistol and ammo. “Now, get up and use that thing!” shouted the big brother, kneeling behind the
boat and firing off a few rounds with his pistol.
While the rest of the team distracted the beast, Rebecca quickly ran to Jill and dragged her to where Claire was.
“Jill, you okay!?” the girl asked, yanking out a small flashlight and doing a quick examination.
Letting out a moan, the older women put a hand to her head and slowly got up; pushing Rebecca’s helping hands away. “I’m fine, now focus
on the fight!” she demanded, regaining thought before pushing herself and the medic against the crates.
Then, Rebecca quickly looked around and saw a large tentacle climb into the air and she looked over into the direction of it… it was
going to smash Ashley!
“Ashley!” the girl screamed before getting up and dashing over to her, pointing into the air.
Leon glanced over when he heard Rebecca scream his fiancée’s name and ran over as well as dashing over as well.
Though, the man got hit as a tentacle swung at him and slammed him back into place.
Rebecca, however, managed to dive and grab the girl just as the arm came flying down and smashed the two concrete blocks.
The girl screamed in surprise, though the sound was crushed as two black bird helicopters flew by.
All the team’s eyes immediately went to the sky; it seemed as if they had all never seen such a sight before.
Though, when the creature wailed and they saw the copters spin around and watched them ready their rockets and machine guns, they knew
they had to get somewhere safe.
---------------------------------------
“Wha? Rebecca!” the Billy choked out, watching though the cockpit as they saw the team fighting the monster.
“Explosives ready!” the co-pilot stated.
“Good, fire” the pilot then spoke, Billy immediately looking to him.
“Wait, don’t-” but he couldn’t even finish his sentence before the fire power took off, and within a split second… everything seemed to
go white as two rockets from both of the helicopters slammed into both the warehouse and the monster.
---------------------------------------
Claire took in a breath, her body being thrown back by the huge force... Jill turned her head as the world around her began to spin and
her hearing died…
Chris grabbed Leon as he made another run for Ashley, quickly picking up the side of the boat and dragging them both under it…
Ashley let out a scream, a bright light blinding her as threw herself onto her back to avoid hurting the child…
Rebecca grinded her teeth, going on top of Ashley as a shield…
Barry quickly jumped up into the air and felt himself be thrown by the wind, tumbling in the air…
---------------------------------------
Before Billy could even say ‘Turn!’ two tentacles shot of out of the explosion and rammed into the first copters cockpit, Billy being
thrown out as the other tentacle slammed into the second copter’s rocket rack on it’s right side; causing them both to explode. Billy
quickly felt cold water cover his body as he opened his tightly shut eyes and swam to surface.
Before him, he saw the two copters fall into fiery wreckage between the monster and pier, pieces of the debris flying off into every
direction.
Slowly, he swam to the ladder that lead onto the pier and climbed it… as quick as possible; he ran to where the monster once stood and
took out a vial. There was a strange liquid everywhere, so it didn’t take him long to grab a vial full and put it into his bag.
Though, that’s when he noticed something… his headset wasn’t on his head. ‘Great… it must have come off when I hit the water’ he
thought angrily.
Then… he remembered Rebecca and began to search for her… and, he found her. She was beside a blonde girl, her elbow, forehead and side
scratched terribly.
He looked upon her face, memories flashing back… she couldn’t see him now… she’d be far too angry that he had never talked to her since
STRAT-COM, since they both set off...
So, taking in a breath… he ripped off the dog tags around his neck and put them into her hand before kissing it softly.
“Anyways… I better get moving” he mumbled to himself before pulling out his weapon and heading off. “Maybe some day we’ll talk again
Rebecca… but not now” he said to himself as he looked and saw a van parked near the fiery wreckage… and quickly got into it. The keys
where still in the ignition, how lucky.
Starting the vehicle, he sped off… mind still lingering on Rebecca and their bloody history…
